2009 CWT Awards Party Night

Awards Presentation

Upon arrival on ground floor, guests were ushered to a VIP registration desk where they were assigned seating allocations for the secret awards presentation. This created excited chatter about what was to happen at the awards presentation.

At Level 2, guests were greeted by handsome male hosts in black-tie directing them along the red carpet into the pre-dinner area. Guests were left in awe of the magnificent view which stretched along the Yarra towards the Melbourne CBD and beyond.

Next, guests entered the main event area featuring a central aisle with red carpet flowing to the main stage. Life size award replicas sit either side of the red carpet illuminated with lighting from beneath and above. The 9m x 27.5m wide main stage feature enveloped the entire front of the room. At three points within the stage feature were three revolving images of the awards logo which appeared as though they were suspended within the stage set. With the main stage as the focal point of the room, guests felt as though they are attending an awards presentation fit for Hollywood, and they were...

As guests were seated the room buzzed as this was not what the audience expected. The room lighting changed and as MC Tom Williams walked on stage, the entire stage set transformed. Tom proceeded to host and handout awards to the winners. At the end of the presentation, the stage suddenly transformed again to full party mode with dance crew performances of PINK's hit song 'Get the Party started!'. Sexy female dancers exploded onto stage dressed in funky PINK styled costumes while buff guys burst through the doors at the back of the room and made their way to the main stage to join them in a fully choreographed dance show spectacular. The dancers then moved onto the red carpet and engaged guests while the centre section of the side wall of the venue opened to reveal the after party room.

After Party

The After Party room included a parquetry dance floor and entrance lined with waiters on either side to hand drinks to guests as they entered the room. Massive 4.8m x 1.2m translucent perspex panels were suspended from the ceiling creating four separate areas within the main room. Guest were free to lounge while still being able to see everything that was going on in other sections of the room. Each of the four rooms had their own look and feel which you can see from the image gallery.

Entertainment included the Big City Beat Band and DJ rotating performances and sets until the end of the evening.
