After the success of managing Auswind 2007 in Melbourne, the Clean Energy Council again appointed EMG to project manage the CEC 2008 Conference and Exhibition.
The 2008 event was a change from the previous year, as the Clean Energy Council was formed by an amalgamation of Australian Wind Energy Industry Association (Auswind) and the Australian Business Council for Sustainable Energy (BCSE). The new organisation represented more than 400 businesses covering a quarter of Australia's total electricity production, including gas, wind, hydro and bioenergy.
The event, like Auswind 2007, was
an outstanding success.
The 2008 event also headed north to the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre.
EMG's role at the event was to provide:
EMG worked closely with CEC on the program, the social events, room allocation, themes, signage to carry through the theme and all other aspects to ensure the event's success.
EMG allocated dedicated staff members to the various facets of the CEC event. Our registration and database staff managed the 600 delegates with the six different types of registrations and accommodation via our online and PDF registration forms. The registration desk onsite was staffed by the same EMG team to assist delegates and exhibitors with their registrations and queries for the duration of the event.
An EMG event co-ordinator was assigned to manage the logistics of the exhibition build, which included managing 100 exhibitors and sponsor requirements while liaising with the exhibition builder, venue and our client.
EMG managed every aspect of the conference dinner, from sourcing the after dinner speaker down to creating the recycled-paper table centrepieces.
