Christmas 2008 with EMG

Christmas is usually a busy time for EMG and 2008 was no exception.

EMG was proud to be involved in so many successful events with diverse themes. Below are just some of the events we created for Christmas '08.

John Holland's Christmas function at the National Gallery of Victoria

... the night bedazzled all party goers

The Great Hall and Federation Court hosted another Christmas event managed by EMG for 900 guests. The dinner was set with tables covered by black underlays, with shimmering gold overlays and chair covers. Towering centerpieces of twisted willow and ornaments added to the Christmas theme.

Guests were mesmerised by the classical talent of Bernadette Robinson and her renditions of songs, including Edith Piaf and Judy Garland. Guests then hit the dance floor to dance the night away with a DJ.

SMS Technology's Christmas party at Studio 54

Our client wanted Studio 54 for its Christmas party venue and EMG replicated the iconic 70's nightclub. Guests were welcomed to the 1970's where Studio 54 will forever rein as the hottest, most elite and outrageous, one-of-a-kind nightclubs. The illustrious owner, "Steve Rubell", was there to hand pick those he thought worthy of entry to his nightclub.

In true Studio 54 style our host for the evening had his gorgeous girls in tow and there were buffed, topless men ready to welcome guests into the club. Red carpet and the famous ropes and poles led the way to the club's entrance.

Tables were covered with black underlays to the floor, platinum silver organza overlays, black chair covers and fibre-optic glowing centrepieces added to the experience. With the glittering tables, a large feature stage, an amazing light spectacular, of course the mirror balls, dancers and the hottest DJ in town, the night bedazzled all party goers.

Lend Lease's Swing Night

Swing is about style and sophistication and in the 1940's it was the pinnacle of fashion. This was a night where EMG made the guests feel as if they had been transported back to the 40's. They were greeted by tall handsome doormen who welcomed guests to the club. Once in the club, the dimly lit room had a slight smoke haze to accentuate the lighting and feel of the room, tables covered with underlays to the floor and a shimmering silver pearl overlay. The elegant dance-club feel was accentuated with 1940's stylised lampshades and, featured on the main stage, a massive 12-metre long by six-metre high backdrop.

A fantastic Swing dance spectacular was the prelude to the feature act of Carl Riseley's band. This was a fun night where everyone glammed up to the nines and had a great time.

Barry Plant's function at Melbourne Park Function Centre

About 600 guests enjoyed the hospitality at Melbourne Park Function Centre for their Christmas celebration. The 'Evening of Glamour' designed by EMG, began with drinks, which then flowed into dinner. Tables were set with black underlays to the floor with stunning grey organza overlays and black chair covers. In the centre of each table was an elegant art deco inspired, candle-lit table lamp, to soften the feel of the room and further add to the elegant evening.

Guests let their hair down while dancing to the Big City Beat ultimate entertainment show band. The spectacular lighting show, created by EMG, continually changed throughout the evening creating different moods as the night progressed with a complete moving light package over the stage and dance floor. The light show transformed to a "WOW" effect for the main event. With an emphasis on fun, energy and audience interaction, the entertainment kept the guests dancing all night.
