Victorian Tertiary Counsellors Conference 2012

Enhancing mental health in tertiary communities

It is with great pleasure that Deakin University is hosting the 2012 Victorian Tertiary Counsellors Conference in Burwood Melbourne Australia on Monday 3 December.

As per the title for this year's conference, the focus in 2012 will be on mental health within the tertiary educational sector. The content of the program reflects the increase in complex mental health issues presented to counselling services and acknowledges the recent attention given to mental health of international students.

The program will move beyond the research and theory and include some innovations and/or enhancements in practice.

There will be opportunity to learn from colleagues across various tertiary institutions. Peer facilitated group presentations will allow for exploration of existing initiatives within tertiary institutions and how these may be useful at your own institution.

Submissions for peer facilitated presentations at the VTCC are now open. To submit an application please download an Application Form (DOCX) or (PDF) version.

The list of keynote speakers and their presenting topics will be published within the coming months.

Peer facilitated group presentations will be published by October 2012.
